Peacebuilding Seminars
AAi brings graduate-level education from world-class scholars to grassroots Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities who want to learn about their Abrahamic neighbors and collaborate with them in compassion.
Christian Seminars
For the Christian community, AAi offers:
- LOVING MUSLIM NEIGHBORS taught by AAi Founder and Executive Director, Rod Cardoza, a cultural, linguistic, and theological anthropologist (available online now).
- LOVING JEWISH NEIGHBORS taught by Dr. Marvin Wilson, internationally renown expert of Jewish-Christian relations and author of Our Father Abraham, which was made into the award-winning PBS documentary, Jews and Christians: A Journey of Faith. Expected online availability: Summer 2018.
Jewish Seminars
For the Jewish community, AAi offers:
UNDERSTANDING MUSLIM NEIGHBORS by Rabbi Reuven Firestone, an internationally renown expert in Muslim-Jewish relations, author of An Introduction to Islam for Jews, and Professor of Medieval Judaism and Islam at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Expected online availability: Spring 2019.
- UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIAN NEIGHBORS for the Jewish community is in development.
Muslim Seminars
For the Muslim community, AAi offers:
- UNDERSTANDING JEWISH NEIGHBORS by Dr. Amir Hussain, Professor of Theological Studies at Loyola Marymount University and former editor of Oxford University’s Journal of the American Academy of Religion (2011-2015), the premier scholarly journal for the study of religion (expected online availability: Spring 2020).
- UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIAN NEIGHBORS for the Muslim community is in development.

More seminars by additional instructors are needed to meet the diverse needs of Abrahamic congregations. AAi is building an international alliance of peacemaking educators to equip their respective communities to build bridges of understanding and respect with their Abrahamic neighbors, not only by surveying the vast common ground shared and exposing unjust stereotypes, but also by exploring various perceptions of difference that have divided us historically. AAi stands ready to assist Jewish, Christian and Muslim peacemaking scholars to develop these seminars and propagate them widely
